About Me

Hello, my name is Akintoye Oyedola, popularly known as Toye. I am an I.T. Technician for the University of North Florida's ITS Help Desk. I am also a senior I.T. major at UNF with Leadership and International Business. As a dual citizen of Nigeria and the United States, I appreciate conversations on intersectionality and cultural cuisines. I speak English, Yoruba, and a little bit of French. Often, I regard JavaScript, C, and Python as additional languages. For reference, these are popular programming languages :(

I support sustainable practices and the idea of walkable, smart cities. I am especially interested in the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals and Reporting Standard. After university, I plan to merge my IT and sustainability interests to help contribute to sustainable practices in Jacksonville, Florida, where I live. Here are pictures of my national flags:

Hobbies & Interests

While my passion is implementing sustainable IT solutions to facilitate smart city development, I also enjoy writing poetry, playing soccer, and traveling the world! Ola Rotimi is my favorite author. I support Manchester City, an English Premier League soccer team. I have been to Benin, Denmark, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Nigeria, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates. Besides Nigeria, Iceland is certainly my favorite destination thus far. Icelandic climate and nature are unique and beautiful. The animals are majestic, the people are friendly, and the sightseeing is truly endless. Here are pictures of my 2024 trip to Iceland:

Recently, I have taken up bracelet-making and longboarding as new hobbies. Making bracelets for my friends and family is a soothing activity that helps me relax and relieve stress. I also learned to skate to minimize my travel time on-campus. I am yet to execute cool longboard tricks, but I will get there soon. While on-campus, I like to study in the UNF library, walk a trail, or kayak on Lake Oneida in my spare time.

Education

I graduate from the University of North Florida in Spring 2025 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology, and Leadership and International Business minors. After graduation, I plan to enroll in the UNF Graduate School of Computing for a master's degree in Cybersecurity with thesis. Then, I plan to secure a Cybersecurity Analyst role in Jacksonville, Florida while I earn industry-specific certifications.

The following list contains my high school diploma, and univeristy degrees and industry certifications I will earn in the near future.
